Sentencing guidelines (DRAFT)
HB 2732, HB 2707
House Bill 2732 would limit the ability of judges to depart from the sentencing guidelines on crimes of extreme sexual violence. Only under defined and limited circumstances could judges order a more lenient sentence than that currently allowed by state guidelines.
Status 08-Mar-05 2:30 pm: After it passed the House on a vote of 123-0, the bill was forwarded to the Senate Judiciary Committee where it awaits further debate. Bill was reconstructed as HB 2707.
